PreK-12 Summer Programs

Maker It So Maker Space
Non-Credit: The maker movement, known to past generations as “DIY” (do-it-yourself), encourages collaboration, invention, and radical participation with a single goal: to create new things. Students will operate a t-shirt business and create custom t-shirts, they will construct duct tape projects, and they will build and race rubber band-powered cars and airplanes. Maker It So provides students with opportunities to explore their own interests and to use tools and materials to collaboratively develop creative projects and engineering projects. The course will increase students’ social and collaborative skills in addition to promoting their interest in the arts, business, and engineering. Students will also promote school spirit at the West Hartford Inter-District Summer School by making custom t-shirts for the classes with the most school spirit. The course is open to students entering 6th,7th, 8th, and 9th grades.

Fees: $295.00 includes materials (resident class fee)

This is no credit given for this course.
